An Enduring Love, a Forever Gift
Frank Petersmark is a retired IT professional, holds a Ph.D. in history, and has served as a devoted volunteer at the Detroit Institute of Arts for over 20 years. He helped create a welcome seminar for new volunteers and chaired the Volunteer Council and several committees.

Honoring Family With a Meaningful Legacy
Clarence Banton comes from a remarkable family. His father was a chemical engineer who served with the Tuskegee Airmen in World War II. His brother Jim was born deaf, and exhibited wonderful artistic talent at College for Creative Studies (CCS), where a scholarship fund is named in his honor.

Jackie Eckhous: Her Love for the Arts Lives On
Jackie Eckhous was a beloved friend and devoted volunteer and supporter of the DIA for over 49 years. She belonged to seven different museum auxiliaries, reflecting her wide-ranging interests in all types of art, from European, to modern and contemporary, to African, African American and American art. As a volunteer Jackie worked in the museum shop and served as a docent and at the gallery information desks.

Margaret Herz Demant
Margaret Herz Demant was an extraordinary woman. Having escaped Germany at the onset of World War II, she and her family arrived in Detroit in 1940. Together, Margaret and her husband, Henry, built her father’s firm, Walter Herz Interiors.
